Day 1 – Tehran

Prepare for an adventure as soon as you land on your pre-dawn flight to Tehran airport. You will be welcomed by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel. You will have time to rest and relax before your morning tour of Tehran starts. See for yourself how Tehran is a modern megalopolis, which prides itself in having unique museums. You tour will begin with a trip to the Archeological Museum, where you will explore the “evolution of mankind” through the marvelous display of historical relics. Next, you will savour the distinctive flavour of Iranian cuisine, when lunch will be set in an exquisite traditional Iranian restaurant. Afterwards,  you will visit the Crown Jewels Museum which is home to one of the two greatest diamonds – Darya-e-Noor that means ‘sea of light’. At the end of the day, you will get a chance to see a variety of Persian hand-woven carpets and rugs in the Carpet Museum which houses more than 100 spectacular pieces from all over Iran. On top of that,  you will also be given an insight into the history of these carpets.


Day 2 – Tehran & fly to Shiraz

Feast on a delicious breakfast before a morning visit to the Sa’ad Abad Complex with many magnificent historical palaces. Learn how this site was built by the Pahlavi dynasty as you tour two of the palaces. Then head the Ceramic Museum before a tasty Iranian lunch in a traditional restaurant. Afterwards you will be transferred to the airport for a flight to Shiraz. On the way to your hotel, you will pay a visit to Shah e Cheragh. This is one of the most beautiful shrines in Iran with its stunning dome, wonderful lighting and mirror-work.


Day 3 – Visiting Shiraz

Today you will discover the beauty of Shiraz which has a reputation as being the centre of Persian culture for more than 2,000 years.  In the morning, you will relish in the highlights of Shiraz when it was the capital of Iran during the Zand Dynasty. You will be inspired by the glorious Karim Khan palace, the splendid Vakil mosque, Vakil Bazaar and Saray-e-moshir with its splendid architecture as well as the interesting ethnic souvenir shops, Nasir Almolk mosque.  Next, you will stop for a mouth-watering Iranian lunch at one of the traditional restaurants of Shiraz.  After lunch, you will pay homage to the city’s famous poets such as Hafez and Sa’adi with a visit to their tombs. In the evening,  you will visit Ali-Ebn-e-Hamzeh which is the tomb of Emir Ali, a nephew of Shah Cheragh, who also died here while en route to Khorasan to help Imam Reza. Be prepared to marvel at its structure which includes eye-catching bulbous Shirazi dome, dazzling Venetian mirror work, stained-glass windows and an intricate, ancient wooden door. Take a stroll through the Jahan Nama Garden and witness its tall and proud cedars. Finally explore the Delgosha Garden and Khajoy-e-Kermani tomb from where you can enjoy stunning views of Shiraz. At night, you will unwind with dinner in a restaurant at Niayesh Boutique Hotel Shiraz.


Day 4-  Persepolis & Necropolis

Make sure you wear comfy shoes today for an excursion to Persepolis. Today you will discover how Persepolis was once the capital of the Achaemenid Empire and built on an immense half-artificial, half-natural terrace, where the King created an impressive palace complex inspired by Mesopotamian models. The importance and quality of the monumental ruins make it a unique archaeological site. It seems that Darius planned this impressive complex of palaces not only as the seat of government but also, and primarily, as a show place and a spectacular centre for the receptions and festivals of the Achaemenid kings and their empire such as Nowroz. The next stop will be Necropolis, which sits opposite the mountain of Rahmat, and also provides seven bas-reliefs dating back to Elamite and Sassanid period. Finally head back to your hotel and unwind.


Day 5 – Driving to Zeinoddin

Today you will be driven to Zeinoddin. But you will explore majestic monuments in Pasargadae, enroute. The first stop will be the tomb of Cyrus the Great, who was the great founder of Achaemanian Emperor. At 500 years BC, this is the oldest historical tomb and features wonderful architecture and huge fertile land.  Then you will head to Abar Kouh which is a historical city which is famed for its  historical sightseeing and wonderful desert architecture. One of the main attractions here is the 4500 year old cypress. Afterward you will visit Zeinoddin. Here you will explore a Safavid Caravanserai in the heart of desert which has been restored in the best way possible and got 2 awards from UNESCO in 2005 and 2006.


Day 6 – Yazd, Mehriz and Sar yazd

Enjoy the sights and sounds of Mehriz, which is located 30 km south of the city of Yazd. Learn why historians believe the name belongs to “Mehrnegar” – the beloved daughter of Anoushirvan, the Sassanid King. One of The most important places to visit in Mehriz is Saryazd which has a castle belonging to Sassanid era. It was once used as a haven in time of war. Another historical site here is a caravanserai in Saryazd which dates back to Seljuk and Safavid era. Saryaz also has one of the best pomegranates of Iran – which you will see many of here. After that you will transfer to Yazd. In the afternoon you will tour Jame Mosque and Tekiye Amir chakhmagh. After so much sightseeing, head back to your hotel and unwind.


Day 7- Visiting Yazd

Today you will explore Yazd which is the oldest adobe city in the world and is surrounded by the 4000m summit of Shirkooh and two majestic deserts – Dasht-e-Kavir and Kavir-e-Loot. This ancient city is furnished with mosques of stunning beauty. The co-existence of the splendid fire temples and the holy sites of different religions astonish every visitor. You too will have a chance to see this in the afternoon, when you will tour the Fire Temple, and Towers of Silence.


Day 8 –  Isfahan

Enjoy a delicious breakfast before being driven 300 km from Yazd to Isfahan which is in the attractive city of Nain. Nain is known as the city of cisterns and possesses around 80 cisterns. Today you will get a chance to visit one of the oldest and most important mosques of Persian Islamic architecture, before heading to your hotel to unwind.


Day 9 –Isfahan

Prepare to fall in love with Isfahan which is considered the pearl of traditional Islamic archaeology. Isfahan prides itself in having fascinating historical garden palaces.  Legend has it that the city was founded at the time of Tahmoures or Keykavous and because of its glories has been entitled “Half the World”.  Your full day tour includes the famed Imam Square, which is also known as Naqsh-e-Jahan, and is a huge square –  second in the world to Beijing’s Tiananmen Square. You will also tour the architectural marvels of Sheikh Lotfollah and Imam Mosques, Aliqapu Palace, Chehel Sutoon and Hasht Behesht Palaces. You will also visit one of the most famous bazaars in Iran, where you can purchase the arts and crafts that Isfahan is so well renowned for.


Day 10 – Visiting Isfahan

Start the day with a mouth-watering breakfast before visiting Isfahan’s Jame’ mosque. As you wander through the site, see how it holds in itself the passage of several centuries of historical Islamic revolution. This mosque is a gallery of Islamic architecture in which the progress of the architecture from the outset of Islam till recent times is evident. Then you will visit Vank Church which is one of the most beautiful Armenian churches in the world and will undoubtedly capture the attention of every Christian. Your day will conclude with a visit to Monar Jomban, the tomb of a Sufi with its shaking minarets and some historical bridges. You will have the evening free to spend at leisure.


Day 11 -Driving to Abyaneh & visiting Abyaneh

Today you will be driven 200 Km to visit the UNESCO recognised village of Abyaneh. Located at the foot of Mount Karkas and in the vicinity of desert, here  you will appreciate the serenity of this quaint village. You will have the chance to meet the dwellers who speak, live and dress in the original Persian style. It is as if you have been transformed back in time for a few hours.


Day 12- Driving to Kashan & depart Iran

Today you will hop on to Kashan and visit Tabatabaiha and Borojerdiha houses and some other historical places specially chosen by your tour guide to better understand the previous century’s architecture, the Qajar era.  Then you will be transferred to airport, but  may visit Qom on the way if it is possible. Finally board your plane – with memories that you will treasure for years to come.
