Day 1 – Arrival Amman:
You do not need a magic carpet to uncover the magic of the middle east. Simply fly to Jordan and see world famous heritage sites with your own eyes. The red carpet treatment will be rolled out for you as soon as you arrive at the airport and are welcomed by our friendly representative. You will then be transferred directly to your hotel for check-in. Depending upon your flight arrival time, we can offer additional activities for the day, such as a trip to local art galleries. As evening falls enjoy dinner and an overnight at your hotel.
Day 2 – Amman, Allenby Bridge, Mount of Olives, Al-Aqsa and Haram Al-Sharif:
Today will be etched in your mind forever as the day you see famous sites steeped in Islamic history. Your day will start early when you will be picked up from your hotel in Amman and transferred to Allenby Bridge to cross the border into Israel. You will drive past the Mount of Olives for a wonderful view of Jerusalem. Here you will have a chance to visit Suleiman Al-Farsi and Rabah Al-Adawi. Next you will finally see landmarks you’ve read about for years – Haram Al-Sharif and Al Aqsa Mosque which is the second oldest mosque in Islam after the Ka’ba in Mecca. It is also the third in importance after the mosques in Mecca and Medina. You will have a chance to pray in Al-Aqsa Mosque before moving onto the Dome of the Rock. This landmark is an enduring symbol of the city and undoubtedly one of the most photographed buildings on Earth. As its name suggests, the dome covers a slab of stone sacred to both the Muslim and Jewish faiths. According to Jewish tradition, it was here that Prophet Abraham prepared to sacrifice his son. Islamic tradition has the Prophet Mohammed ascending to heaven from this spot. Next, you will continue to Mount Zion and see the Tomb of Nebi Daoud. Finally, check into your hotel and feast on a delicious dinner before enjoying a well-earned rest.
Day 3 – Bethlehem, Burak Suleiman, Al-Khadr, Khalil Al-Rahman:
Today you will make a memorable journey to Bethlehem and see the birth place of Jesus. But before that you will travel to the West Bank and stop at the Separation Wall. After this poignant stop, you will finally head into Bethlehem, which positively hums with activity. You will adore winding through its streets congested with traffic and wandering through the main square filled with snap-happy tourists scrambling to keep up with their guides. Churches now cover many of the holy sites but there is plenty to see and do for even for the non-religious. There’s a lively old city, bazaar and many cultural centres where you can critique local art, watch performances and talk politics. Here you will also have a chance to pray in the Masjid Omar, before continuing to Burak Suleiman and then to Al-Khadr. Another highlight of the day will also be a trip to Khalil Al-Rahman to pray at the Mosque where Prophet Abraham, also known as Ibrahim, and his family are buried. You will also have a chance to see the Oak of Mamre – which is an ancient tree. It is said to mark the place where Abraham entertained the three angels, while some believe it is where Abraham pitched his tent. Finally enjoy a delicious dinner and an overnight at your hotel.
Day 4 – Jerusalem, Allenby bridge & Amman:
Start the day with a hearty breakfast to prepare for a busy day of sightseeing. Today you will pay an emotional visit Nebi Mousa, which is a desert sanctuary of Prophet Moses. It is also said to be where he is buried. Its white domed roof has been witness to centuries of pilgrimage. Next you will head to onto Jericho, the oldest city in the world, before you are transferred to Allenby Bridge, and cross back into Jordan. From here you will visit Dead Sea which is a salt lake bordered by Jordan, Israel and Palestine. The water has a density of 1.24 kg, which makes swimming feel similar to floating.
However, the adventures do not stop there. Next you will uncover the Seven Sleeper cave, which sits just 10 kilometers outside of Amman near the village of Al Raqim. The attraction is also known as ‘Kahif Al Raqim’ and is a popular site as it has been mentioned in the Holy Quran. According to the Sura named Al Kahf, a group of pious youths took refuge in the cave after being persecuted by the despotic rule of the Trajan. To preserve them, God put them to sleep and when they awoke 309 solar years later, they believed they had only been asleep for a day. Here you will also see a mosque fitting the description of the Holy Quran, before you head back to your hotel in Amman for a delicious dinner and a good night’s sleep.
Day 5 – Departure:
This morning you will feast on the final breakfast of your holiday. Depending upon the time of your flight, we can arrange optional tours such as Amman City Tour. Finally, you will be transferred to Queen Alia International Airport for your flight back to the UK. As you leave, your mind will be buzzing with the adventures you have experienced.
