You will spend 8 days travelling through Tbilisi, Kakheti, Mtskheta, Gori, Kutaisi, and Okatse Canyons. Here you will visit museums, old squares, charming markets, and historical landmarks. Day 1 – Arrival
Gear up for an amazing adventure when you arrive at the airport. Here you will be welcomed by our friendly representative who will transfer you to a hotel in Tbilisi. Be wowed by Tbilisi’s dramatic setting inside the deep valley of the swift Mtkvari River. Admire the picturesque architecture, an ever-lively arts and cultural scene, and the welcoming Georgian lifestyle.

Day 2 – Tbilisi old town walking tour 
After breakfast you will visit Sameba Cathedral. Built in 2004, the cathedral is also called the symbol of new Georgia. You will be in awe as you see this landmark arises magnificently on the hill of the St. Ilya, on the left bank of the Kura River. You will also explore Metekhi Church and the bridge, before continue to the Abanotubani district which is famous for its sulphur baths. You will then ride on a cable car to visit Narikala Fortress.  Learn how most of the walls were built in the 8th century by the Arab emirs, whose palace was inside the fortress. The highlight of the visit will be the superb views over Tbilisi from the top of the fortress. There will be a chance to walk along Shardeni Street with lots of souvenir and gift shops – making it an ideal spot to do a bit of holiday shopping. Next you will explore Sioni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Basilica, Freedom Square, and Rustaveli Avenue. Then you will tour the parliament building and Kashveti Church. Finally you can return back to your hotel for a well earned rest or explore the nightlife independently.

Day 3 – Kakheti, the land of wine 
Today you will drive to fortified city of Sighnaghi and Bodbe Monastery. You will also explore the Chavchavadze museum in Tsinandali. After a short walk at Telavi food market, you will visit the famous Alaverdi cathedral, Ikalto Academy and Shuamta monastery complex. Next you head back to your Tbilisi hotel by driving through the Gombori pass. The pass peaks at 1620 meters above sea level and is a spectacular road and is filled with small idyllic villages, magnificent views of Alazani Valley and Caucasus Mountains, sheep flocks, and ancient forests. It is a wonderful way to end a memorable day.

Day 4 – Military Georgian Road across the Caucasus 
This morning you will visit Ananuri fortress which is a classic example of beautiful old Georgian architecture. It’s beautiful location is enhanced by the Zhinvali Reservoir spreading out below. Inside the fortress there are two 17th-century churches, the larger of which, the Assumption Church, is covered with wonderful stone carving, including a large cross on every wall. Make sure you camera is charged to take wonderful photos that you will cherish for years to come. Next you will travel to the alpine ski resort Gudauri after driving through the Cross Pass. You will have a chance to walk up to Gergeti Trinity Church with the beautiful views of Kazbegi mountain peak and the village. Finally return to Tbilisi for a good night’s sleep.

Day 5 – Mtskheta and Gori
Today you will peel back the fascinating layers of Mtskheta. Learn how it has been Georgia’s spiritual heart since Christianity was established here and holds a near-mystical significance in Georgian culture. With an alluring setting where the Mtkvari and Aragvi Rivers meet, Mtskheta makes an easy and enjoyable day trip. You too,  will visit its popular landmarks including Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, and Samtavro Convent. Next you will travel to Uplistsikhe, and visit Museum in Gori – which has been sinuously linked to Stalin because this is where he was born and spent his childhood.

Day 6 – Kutaisi tour
This morning you will check out from your Tbilisi hotel and drive to Georgia’s second large city Kutaisi. Discover how Kutaisi has been revitalised after years of post-Soviet decline. Kutaisi is built around the Rioni River, with the city centre, first developed in the 17th century, on its left bank. Today you will enjoy an excursion in the old Town. You will visit Bagrati Temple, which is a masterpiece of medieval architecture, as well as the historic and architectural complex of Gelati and Motsameta monastery. Finally you will check into your hotel in Kutaisi and unwind.

Day 7 – Okatse Canyons
Prepare to be mesmerised when you visit the Okatse Canyons in Village Gordi inside a deep and narrow ravine. Okatse Canyon is truly one of the most magnificent and amazing places in Georgia. With breath-taking views it is practically untouched by humans, leaving you feeling pleasantly cut off as you take in its authentic beauty. Along the canyon, you will be amazed at the several waterfalls cascading down rocks. After a blissful day, you will drive back to your hotel in Tbilisi. However, guests with departure from Kutaisi airport will stay one more night at Kutaisi hotel before their flight back to the UK.

Day 8 – Departure
Take time to enjoy the final breakfast of your holiday. You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to the UK. As you leave, your mind will be filled with the amazing memories you have just created.
