Your trip will be filled with visits to museums, monasteries, old squares, charming markets, wine tasting vineyard, and historical landmarks. One of the highlights of the holiday will be a trip to Okatse Canyons, where you will relish the captivating views of forests, waterfalls, and the lush valley. Day 1 – Arrival
Prepare to peel back the stunning layers of Georgia when you arrive today. As soon as you land at the airport, you will be welcomed by our friendly representative who will transfer you to a hotel in Tbilisi. Be wowed by Tbilisi’s dramatic setting inside the deep valley of the swift Mtkvari River. Admire the picturesque architecture, an ever-lively arts and cultural scene, and the relaxed Georgian lifestyle.

Day 2-  Tbilisi old town walking tour 
Today you will enjoy a cultural feast when you enjoy a jam packed day exploring Tbilisi. After breakfast you will visit Sameba Cathedral, which was built in 2004, and is known as the symbol of new Georgia. You will be in awe as you see this landmark arise magnificently on the hill of the St. Ilya, on the left bank of the Kura River. You will also explore Metekhi Church and the bridge, before continuing to the Abanotubani district which is famous for its sulphur baths. You will then ride on a cable car to visit Narikala Fortress.  Here you will learn how most of the walls were built in the 8th century by the Arab emirs, whose palace was inside the fortress. You will be rewarded with superb views over Tbilisi from the top of the fortress. There will also be a chance to walk along Shardeni Street which has lots of souvenir and gift shops – making it an ideal spot to do a bit of holiday shopping. Next you will explore Sioni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Basilica, Freedom Square, and Rustaveli Avenue. Then you will tour the parliament building and Kashveti Church. Finally you can return back to your hotel for a well earned rest or explore the nightlife independently.

Day 3- Kakheti, the land of wine 
Start the day with a hearty breakfast to fuel up for another busy day sightseeing. Today you will drive to the fortified city of Sighnaghi and visit Bodbe Monastery. You will also explore the Chavchavadze Museum in Tsinandali. After a short walk at Telavi Food Market, where delicious aromas fill the air, you will visit the famous Alaverdi Cathedral, Ikalto Academy and Shuamta Monastery Complex. Next you will head back to your Tbilisi hotel by driving through the Gombori pass. The pass peaks at 1620 meters above sea level and is a spectacular road that is filled with small idyllic villages, magnificent views of Alazani Valley and Caucasus Mountains, sheep flocks, and ancient forests. It is a wonderful way to end a memorable day.

Day 4 – Military Georgian Road across the Caucasus 
Today you will be in awe of the Ananuri Fortress which is a classic example of beautiful old Georgian architecture. During your trip, you will be wowed by it’s beautiful location which is enhanced by the Zhinvali Reservoir spreading out below. Inside the fortress there are two 17th-century churches, the larger of which, the Assumption Church, is covered with wonderful stone carving, including a large cross on every wall. Make sure your camera is charged to take wonderful photos that you will cherish for years to come. Next you will travel to the alpine ski resort Gudauri after driving through the Cross Pass. You will have a chance to walk up to Gergeti Trinity Church with beautiful views of Kazbegi mountain peak and the village. Finally return to Tbilisi for a good night’s sleep.

Day 5 – Mtskheta and Gori 

Discover first hand why Mtskheta has been Georgia’s spiritual heart since Christianity was established here. You will learn why it holds a near-mystical significance in Georgian culture when you explore it alluring setting where the Mtkvari and Aragvi Rivers meet. You will visit its popular landmarks including Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, and Samtavro Convent. Next you will travel to Uplistsikhe, and visit the museum in Gori – which has been sinuously linked to Stalin because this is where he was born and spent his childhood. The museum outlines his life here. Then return to Tbilisi for a well earned rest.

Day 6 – Kutaisi
Today you will discover how Kutaisi has been revitalised after years of post-Soviet decline. You will adore  exploring Kutaisi which is built around the Rioni River, with the city centre, first developed in the 17th century, on its left bank. Your day will start early in the morning when you will check out from your Tbilisi hotel and drive to Georgia’s second large city Kutaisi. Today you will enjoy an excursion in the old Town. You will visit Bagrati Temple, which is a masterpiece of medieval architecture, as well as the historic and architectural complex of Gelati and Motsameta Monastery. Finally, you will check into your hotel in Kutaisi where you will enjoy dinner before a well earned rest.

Day 7 – Okatse Canyons &  Mestia
Today will be etched in your mind forever as the day you were dazzled by the Okatse Canyons. Set in Gordi inside a deep and narrow ravine, Okatse Canyon is truly one of the most magnificent and amazing places in Georgia. With breath-taking views,  it is practically untouched by humans. A trip here, leaves  you feeling pleasantly cut off as you take in its authentic beauty. Along the canyon, you will be amazed at the several waterfalls cascading down rocks. After a blissful day, you will drive to the Svaneti region via the beautiful Enguri Dam. Once you arrive in Mestia, you will check into a family hotel for dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Day 8 –  Mestia & Ushguli

After breakfast you will be drive to Ushguli, which is a village 2200 meters above the sea level. It is famous with its watch towers and beautiful views of Mouth Shkhara. Today, you will tour  the  Ethnographical Museum, before a trip to a 12th Century Church of the Virgin Mary. Finally, you will return back to Mestia to feast on a delicious dinner at your hotel.

 Day 9 – Mestia & Batumi
Today you will visit Hatsvali Mountain by cable car. Be sure to take a moment to soak up the tranquil atmosphere.  Next you will continue to Batumi for check into your hotel. In the evening, you will walk along the boulevard to visit a unique moving statue of Ali and Nino, Georgian Alphabetic Tower, Fountain of Chacha, Piazza Square and Europe Square.  Be sure to take your camera with you to snap these fascinating landmarks.

Day 10- Return to Kutaisi or Tbilisi
This morning you will have free time to spend as you wish. Now would be a great time to explore the sea, before you check out from your hotel. Next you will visit Batumi Botanical Garden where you can take in the splendour of stunning trees and flowers. Next you will explore Gonio Fortress. Many legends and myths are connected with the fortress. It has a tomb which is considered to be of Apostle Mathew – one of 12  disciples whom  Jesus accepted into his circle instead of Judas Iscariot. Finally you will return to either Kutaisi or Tbilisi depending on where your outbound flight is leaving from. Once you arrive, you can check into your hotel and relax.

Day 11- Departure 
Take time to enjoy the final breakfast of your holiday. You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to the UK. As you leave, your mind will be filled with the amazing memories you have just created.
