Itinerary:

Day 1 – Arrival
Gear up for an amazing holiday when you arrive at the airport. Here you will be welcomed by our friendly representative who will transfer you to a hotel in Yerevan. See for yourself how this is a city full of contradictions where expensive cars share the roads with vehicles so old that they should be in museum collections. Old-fashioned teahouses sit next to chic European-style wine bars; and street fashions range from hipster to babushka with many weird and wonderful variations in between.

Day 2 – Yerevan
Start the day with a delicious breakfast before embarking on a tour of Yerevan. Today you will visit Mother Armenia monument and get a spectacular view of Mount Ararat with panorama of central Yerevan. You will also explore the Matenadaran Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, the Cascade Complex, Opera House, as well as Northern Avenue and Republic Square. Lastly, you will pay homage at the Armenian Genocide Memorial which sits on a hill. Then head back to your hotel or venture out to explore the nightlife independently.

Day 3 –  Echmiadzin and Zvartnots
Today you will unlock the beauty of Echmiadzin. Here you will visit the spiritual and administrative centre of the Armenian Apostolic Church, as well as exploring the churches of St. Hripsime and St. Gayane. There will also be a chance to explore  the Main Cathedral of Echmiadzin and attend the Holy Liturgy on a Sunday.  The cathedral was built on the very spot that Christian’s believe Grigor Luysavorich dreamt Jesus descended from heaven to show him where he wanted the church to be built. On your journey back, you will visit ruins of the 7th century Zvartnots Temple, before enjoying a tour of “Vernissage” and fruit market “Shouka” to buy souvenirs and gifts. Finally relax at your hotel in Yerevan.

Day 4 – Khor Virap and Noravank
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be driven to Khor Virap Monastery, which rests on top of a little hill in an otherwise very flat Ararat Valley. From here Mount Ararat also reveals its breathtaking size and splendour. You will then drive to the masterpiece of medieval Armenian architecture –  the 14th century Noravank Monastery. Discover how in the 13th–14th centuries,  the monastery became a residence of Syunik’s bishops and, consequently,  a major religious centre. You will then stopover for wine tasting at the local wine factory in Areni. Finally return to Yerevan for a good night’s sleep.

Day 5 – Garni, Geghard and Sevan
After a mouth watering breakfast you will check out from your hotel, and be driven to the oldest surviving building on the territory of Armenia –  the 1st century Garni Pagan Temple. Visit the 13th century Cave Monastery of Geghard, before continue to Lake Sevan and exploring Monastery of Sevanavank. Next you will continue to Dilijan, a resort town renowned for its charming nature and extraordinary architecture. Here, you will wander through the historical district of Old Dilijan to relax and unwind. Finally, you will travel to  Alaverdi to explore the Haghpat Monastery, before being driven to Tbilisi for check in to your  hotel.

Day 6 – Military Georgian Road across the Caucasus
This morning you will visit Ananuri Fortress which is a classic example of beautiful old Georgian architecture. It’s beautiful location is enhanced by the Zhinvali Reservoir spreading out below. Inside the fortress there are two 17th-century churches, the larger of which, the Assumption Church, is covered with wonderful stone carving, including a large cross on every wall. Make sure your camera is charged to take wonderful photos that you will cherish for years to come. Next you will travel to the alpine ski resort Gudauri after driving through the Cross Pass. You will have a chance to walk up to Gergeti Trinity Church with the beautiful views of Kazbegi mountain peak and the village. Finally return to Tbilisi for a good night’s sleep.

Day 7 – Mtskheta and Gori
Unlock the fascinating treasures of Mtskheta today. You will learn how it has been Georgia’s spiritual heart since Christianity was established here and holds a near-mystical significance in Georgian culture. With an alluring setting where the Mtkvari and Aragvi Rivers meet, Mtskheta makes an easy and enjoyable day trip. You too,  will visit it’s popular landmarks including  the historical and architectural complex of Jvari, Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, and Samtavro Convent. Next you will travel to Uplistsikhe, and visit a museum in Gori – which has been sinuously linked to Stalin because this is where he was born and spent his childhood.

Day 8  –  Kutaisi tour
Peel back the fascinating layers of Georgia’s second largest city Kutaisi. Discover how Kutaisi has been revitalised after years of post-Soviet decline. Kutaisi is built around the Rioni River, with the city centre, first developed in the 17th century, on its left bank. Today you will enjoy an excursion in the old town. You will visit Bagrati Temple, which is a masterpiece of medieval architecture, as well as the historic and architectural complex of Gelati and Motsameta monastery. Finally you will check into your hotel in Kutaisi and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Day 9 – Okatse Canyons
Today to be hypnotised by Georgia’s charms when you visit the Okatse Canyons in Village Gordi. Set inside  a deep and narrow ravine,  Okatse Canyon is truly one of the most magnificent and amazing places in Georgia. With breath-taking views it is practically untouched by humans, leaving you feeling pleasantly cut off as you take in its authentic beauty. Along the canyon, you will be amazed at the several waterfalls cascading down rocks. After a blissful day, you will drive back to your hotel in Tbilisi.
